Attendance, pace, adherence to standards, and work ethic are difficult to evaluate through an interview and a r&eacute;sum&eacute;. Temporary-to-hire helps close that gap by giving you the opportunity to evaluate actual performance before making a permanent hiring decision.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <h2 class=\"aps-h2\">What Temporary-to-Hire Means<\/h2>\r\n\r\n    <p>Under this model, Alliance recruits, screens, and employs the individual during an initial assignment. The employee works at your facility under your team&rsquo;s day-to-day direction, while Alliance manages recruiting, payroll, employment administration, attendance coordination, and replacement support. If the assignment is successful, the employee may transition to your payroll in accordance with the agreed conversion terms.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>During the assignment, Alliance is the worker&rsquo;s staffing employer and handles payroll and employment administration. The employee performs services within your operation, where your team can evaluate something a r&eacute;sum&eacute; or interview cannot fully demonstrate: how the person actually performs on the job.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <h2 class=\"aps-h2\">What You Can Evaluate During the Assignment<\/h2>\r\n\r\n    <p>Instead of projecting how a candidate might perform, you observe it:<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"aps-box\">\r\n      <ul class=\"aps-list\">\r\n        <li>Attendance and punctuality across full shifts<\/li>\r\n        <li>Productivity at your line&rsquo;s actual pace, not a hypothetical one<\/li>\r\n        <li>Adherence to your safety, quality, and documentation standards<\/li>\r\n        <li>Integration with supervisors, crew, and shift structure<\/li>\r\n        <li>Response to your equipment, temperatures, and the physical demands of the position<\/li>\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <p>Pre-assignment screening does not go away. Candidates are screened based on the position, shift, experience, physical requirements, and other job-related criteria defined by the client. The assignment adds something screening alone cannot provide: observed performance in your actual operation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <h2 class=\"aps-h2\">Employment Responsibility During the Assignment<\/h2>\r\n\r\n    <p>This is where temporary-to-hire can reduce much of the administrative burden associated with recruiting and bringing on additional employees.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>Alliance employs the assigned worker and administers payroll, withholdings, workers&rsquo; compensation coverage, and employment documentation. We also remain involved throughout the assignment with attendance coordination, employee communication, and replacement support.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p>If the assignment does not work out, the client may request that Alliance end the worker&rsquo;s assignment or provide a replacement, subject to applicable law and the terms of the service agreement. Both Alliance and the client have responsibilities under applicable employment and workplace-safety laws. The client remains particularly important in day-to-day supervision, site-specific safety and training, equipment, and workplace conditions.<\/p>\r\n      <p>Requests to remove an employee from an assignment should be based on legitimate, documented, job-related reasons and must comply with applicable anti-discrimination, anti-retaliation, and other employment laws.<\/p>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n    <p>A well-defined service agreement helps both parties understand their respective operational responsibilities and creates a cleaner working relationship from the beginning.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <h2 class=\"aps-h2\">When This Model Fits<\/h2>\r\n\r\n    <p>Temporary-to-hire tends to work particularly well for operations that:<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <ul class=\"aps-list\">\r\n      <li>Are filling a position they expect to keep permanently but want to confirm fit first<\/li>\r\n      <li>Have experienced turnover in a specific role and want to reduce repeated hiring cycles<\/li>\r\n      <li>Are adding headcount during a period of increased volume that may become permanent<\/li>\r\n      <li>Need production, warehouse, material handling, or administrative coverage now and a permanent employee later<\/li>\r\n    <\/ul>\r\n\r\n    <p>It fits less well when the need is temporary by definition. Temporary-to-hire helps close that gap by giving you the opportunity to evaluate actual performance before making a permanent hiring decision. What Temporary-to-Hire Means Under this model, Alliance recruits, screens, and employs the individual during an initial assignment. The employee works at your facility under your team&rsquo;s day-to-day direction, while Alliance manages recruiting, payroll, employment administration, attendance coordination, and replacement support. If the assignment is successful, the employee may transition to your payroll in accordance with the agreed conversion terms. During the assignment, Alliance is the worker&rsquo;s staffing employer and handles payroll and employment administration. The employee performs services within your operation, where your team can evaluate something a r&eacute;sum&eacute; or interview cannot fully demonstrate: how the person actually performs on the job. What You Can Evaluate During the Assignment Instead of projecting how a candidate might perform, you observe it: Attendance and punctuality across full shifts Productivity at your line&rsquo;s actual pace, not a hypothetical one Adherence to your safety, quality, and documentation standards Integration with supervisors, crew, and shift structure Response to your equipment, temperatures, and the physical demands of the position Pre-assignment screening does not go away. Candidates are screened based on the position, shift, experience, physical requirements, and other job-related criteria defined by the client. The assignment adds something screening alone cannot provide: observed performance in your actual operation. Employment Responsibility During the Assignment This is where temporary-to-hire can reduce much of the administrative burden associated with recruiting and bringing on additional employees. Alliance employs the assigned worker and administers payroll, withholdings, workers&rsquo; compensation coverage, and employment documentation. We also remain involved throughout the assignment with attendance coordination, employee communication, and replacement support. If the assignment does not work out, the client may request that Alliance end the worker&rsquo;s assignment or provide a replacement, subject to applicable law and the terms of the service agreement. Alliance then manages the resulting employment action with its employee. The arrangement does not eliminate the client&rsquo;s responsibilities within its operation. Both Alliance and the client have responsibilities under applicable employment and workplace-safety laws. The client remains particularly important in day-to-day supervision, site-specific safety and training, equipment, and workplace conditions. Requests to remove an employee from an assignment should be based on legitimate, documented, job-related reasons and must comply with applicable anti-discrimination, anti-retaliation, and other employment laws. A well-defined service agreement helps both parties understand their respective operational responsibilities and creates a cleaner working relationship from the beginning. When This Model Fits Temporary-to-hire tends to work particularly well for operations that: Are filling a position they expect to keep permanently but want to confirm fit first Have experienced turnover in a specific role and want to reduce repeated hiring cycles Are adding headcount during a period of increased volume that may become permanent Need production, warehouse, material handling, or administrative coverage now and a permanent employee later It fits less well when the need is temporary by definition. If the assignment ends when volume returns to normal, temporary staffing may be the more practical option. If the position is a defined permanent role and you are ready to make the hiring decision today, direct-hire placement may be the better route. The advantage of temporary-to-hire is the middle ground: you can fill the position now while giving yourself time to make the permanent hiring decision based on demonstrated performance rather than interviews alone. How the Process Works We begin by reviewing the position, required experience, shift, location, assignment duration, anticipated headcount, and expected start date. From there, Alliance recruits and screens candidates against those requirements and coordinates the start of the assignment. During the assignment, our team maintains ongoing client communication, attendance coordination, periodic check-ins, and replacement support when needed. Your supervisors see the employee perform in the actual work environment, while Alliance continues managing the staffing relationship. When you identify someone you want to keep, we review the agreed conversion process with you and coordinate the transition.
